Oliveira’s current work centers around intertwining sci-fi narratives in a queer, utopian future, using textiles and immersive installation to transform these narratives into an expansive and interconnected mythology for a future earth while Corwin’s sculptures are drawn from symbols that appear repeatedly in mythology and scripture: ladders, wheels, and boats, as well as traditional formal poses of the human figure used to denote symbolic actions. In conversation with each other, the work of Oliveira and Corwin consider the feminine power throughout history and future.
