EXPO Chicago 2026 with Ethan Greenbaum and Sun You

April 9 - April 12, 2026

We are thrilled to announce a Profile booth presentation showcasing the work of Ethan Greenbaum and Sun You at EXPO Chicago 2026 this April! Join us in Booth 412.

Artists, educators, curators, and longtime partners, Greenbaum and You have developed their practices in tandem, informed by joint curatorial projects, informal studio visits, and a shared life in art.

You works with colorful polymer clay to create playful, non-objective forms as dimensional elements in her paintings and ceramic sculptures that explore themes of domesticity and abstraction. Greenbaum merges photography, painting, and sculpture in low-relief wall works that read as urban archaeology — fragments of city life preserved and reimagined.

Though their practices remain distinct, they are engaged in an active dialogue and shared fascination with abstract form, unconventional processes, and the overlooked textures of everyday life.

In this site-specific presentation at EXPO, Greenbaum and You will install their works on a photographic wall mural, a format first explored in Fun, their recent two-person show at the gallery. The mural is both backdrop and visual narrative of their studio processes.
